Danity Kane came on the scene in a unique way, starring in a reality television show that documented their work towards success in the entertainment business. The group has since broken up but are linking again for tour dates as DK3. In an interview with Daily Buzz, the ladies opened up about the first time their group was ever "canceled," a devastating loss that was prompted by their mentor Sean "Diddy" Combs himself.
Aubrey spoke of the surprising event with some reserve.
"We were told it was a meeting, who knows what they had on the production then. I don’t believe that it was on anyone's mind that anyone was going to be fired or that the group would be dismantled."
Other members were more blunt about the situation. Their description of Diddy's attitude would have been a disappointment to any artist. Shannon summed up his actions as neglectful and selfish.
"Puff didn't care about us being a successful group. He cared about a T.V. show. He wasn't thinking about what was best for this group. he's like 'uhh, let me do what’s best for me.'"
Aubrey chimed in with a similar perspective.
"Puff cared about himself and his pockets."
