Twenty-two years ago today the rap game lost a notable player when Christopher George Latore Wallace AKA Biggie Smalls was killed in a drive-by shooting at just 24-years-old. Luckily, Biggie pumped out a plethora of music before he left earth so while his family, friends and fans miss his existence every day, hitting play on "Gimme The Loot" aids the sadness for a short amount time.
Diddy has decided to do the most in light of today, by having a boat party with his captain hat and Biggie tunes on full deck. "There will NEVER be another. The GREATEST RAPPER OF ALL TIME. Today we celebrate and honor you king. Love and miss you!!!!!!!!! Happy Biggie Day!" the "Last Night" music maker wrote on Instagram.
Although today is highly considered Biggie Day, May 21st also marks another official Biggie Day in Brooklyn for the late rapper's day of birth.
Diddy has previously discussed Biggie's death and how he partially feels responsible.
"He was supposed to go to London that night and I let him talk me into not going to London and staying in L.A.," Diddy previously told Wendy Williams. "That's something that really bothered me throughout my life. Sometimes you have to really go with that decision in your gut and in my gut it was like, 'You need to get on the plane.'"
He added: "This is God's world. It's his plan but honestly that's one of the things I regret is not making sure that he went to London."
