Its safe to say Dej Loaf is on a mission to help people get “liberated” these days. The Detroit artist just dropped a new single recently titled, "Liberated" featuring Leon Bridges, and her upcoming album will share that same name as well. To go along with that, Dej decided to take her actions a step further and actually pay for the marriage licenses of several gay couples back on June 8th to help them feel “liberated” as well.
"On June 8th, I am helping people get liberated. Visit New York City Hall to have your marriage license cost covered by me." She continued by writing, "Love Wins When #PeopleGetLiberated," and captioning the post with "LIBERATED 6/8 🏳️🌈."
Looking to keep her liberation movement going strong, Dej decides to return to the scene today and share a new mini documentary called “Stories of Liberated People,” which was first premiered at Sony Square in NYC. The 4-minute visual captures individuals from all walks of life including co-writer, Teddy Geiger and Lauren Williams expressing how they feel liberated. It’s a very powerful & moving visual that can definitely help others with themselves.
Check out the mini documentary (below) and look for her Liberated album to be on the way. Revisit the title track right here if you missed it.
