Dave East is a man of many talents. Between acting, rapping, and modeling, it looks like Dave East is gunning to spread his name in multiple creative avenues. He made his acting debut in 2017 on BET's Being Mary Jane but he's stated that he's wanted to dive into film and television a bit more. Well, it looks like he's found an opportunity well-suited for himself. The rapper is set to star as Method Man in Hulu's Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
Deadline reports Wu-Tang: An American Saga added Dave East, Julian Elijah Martinez and Sopranos alum Vinnie Pastore to the cast. Dave East will take on Shotgun, the character based on Method Man. Shotgun is described as having a "knack for rhymes" and "takes pride in being the assistant manager at the concession stand next to the Statue of Liberty." He's also described as staying above the street wars.
Aside from the upcoming acting gig, Dave East is also set to release his debut album, Survival this year. In November, the rapper revealed the title for the project and said that it would be arriving in the first quarter of 2019. We've yet to get any updates on the release date but Dave East has been hard at work on the project.
Dave East had a hell of a run in 2018 but clearly, he's ready to level up this year.
