Daniel Craig's turn as James Bond has been largely acclaimed, though his four films have undergone an interesting critical pattern. Casino Royle was excellent, Quantum Of Solace not so much. Skyfall was excellent, Spectre not so much. Still, Craig's stalwart presence and gritty imagining of the beloved character has earned the actor loyalty across the board, so much so that studios spent a sizeable bag in securing his return. Now, it would appear he's making the most of his swan song, as the twenty-fifth Bond flick begins filming in Jamaica, coming full circle in the process.
"We’re thrilled to return to Jamaica with Bond 25, Daniel Craig’s fifth installment in the 007 series, where Ian Fleming created the iconic James Bond character and Dr. No and Live And Let Die were filmed," state Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson. Metro UK also reveals some scant plot details, which play out as follows: "Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology."
