DaBaby is a name you should be familiar with right now. The Charlotte rapper's made some serious waves over the past few years on an independent scale, but it looks like he's readying to take things to the next level.
DaBaby officially announced his new deal with Interscope Records. The rapper's new deal is a joint venture with South Coast Music Group -- an independent label DaBaby signed to prior to Interscope. Speaking to XXL, DaBaby explained that signing with a major label was merely a move to stay within his comfort zone.
"Interscope told me to keeping doing me, don't change nothin'," he said in a statement. "I feel right at home. Now it's time to make this house the biggest crib in the MF neighborhood."
Interscope is home to the biggest stars in music including Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, Tory Lanez, Black Eyed Peas, and more. South Music Group's CEO, Arnold Taylor, and vice president, King Carter, expressed their excitement over the new deal DaBaby signed with Interscope.
"After years of grinding South Coast Music Group is honored to have a partner like Interscope that understands what's required to take this Carolina movement to the next level and beyond," Taylor and Carter said in a joint statement.
Prior to making the announcement, DaBaby dropped the song "Mini Van" with BlocBoy JB.
