DX announced as first inductees of WWE's 2019 Hall of Fame class.

One of the most iconic factions in pro wrestling history, D-Generation X, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April.

WWE made the official announcement today, noting that DX are the first inductees of the 2019 Hall of Fame Class.

D-Generation X was initially founded in 1997 by Triple H, Shawn Michaels and the late Chyna.

As Triple H explains, per ESPN:

"It's a funny thing, because DX was something that, before Kevin [Nash] and Scott [Hall] left, at the time we all talked about using 'The Kliq' as it was -- kind of morphing that into television, since it was so out there anyways," said Levesque. "But things worked out the way they did -- they left, and the timing was right.

"Shawn and I still wanted to do it. Vince saw the value in it, I guess, and finally let us go at it," Levesque continued. "By that point in time I was looking for a heater, and we had brought Chyna."

After HBK left in-ring action following WrestleMania XIV, the rebellious group went on to add X-Pac and The New Age Outlaws, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn. The brash group encompassed WWE's "Attitude Era," before eventually going their separate ways, which included some iconic matches against one another.

All six legends will be inducted into the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame as D-Generation X on Saturday, April 6, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, during WrestleMania 35 Week.
