CyHi The Prynce wants all the smoke. The G.O.O.D. Music lyricist recently took part in a cypher for next month’s A3C Festival, and he decided to take shots at Joe Budden. "Playin’ me like I’m cotton-candy/ Get ya kids napped, tell ’em pop the nanny," raps CyHi before he turns his sights to Budden. "Turn your house into 'The Adams Family'/ Whoa, you wanna know what I just thought about?/ I think that I should’ve been in Slaughterhouse/ Leave you with a rib-eye tryna’ clown me/ Boy, I knock the legs off a cow just to ground beef/ So call Backpack or Smack and tell ’em set it up/ And anyone who wanna bring a half a mil’, we can bet it up.” Jump to the 4-minute mark in the video below for the diss.
Budden has commented on CyHi in the past, via his podcast, but artists always appear to have a complex relationship with the rapper turned critic. Understandably, rappers keep trying to come at Budden as if he were still a rapper, but the music journalist has left that life behind. On episode 183 of his podcast, Budden responded to the call out. “CyHi, I have half a million dollars, and I’ll clean your ass up," stated Budden. “You can’t come to the party with that. Cy sounds great, he was killing it," he continued. "I don’t think that CyHi has 500 grand of disposable income." Check out the segment below at the 60-minute mark.
