The cult fave that is "Cuphead" is joining the Nintendo Switch ranks on April 18th,

Cuphead is a beloved indie game popular on Steam whose unilateral acceptance amongst PC Gamers seemed satiable enough. But, according to The Verge, the run-and-gun platformer will be unleashed upon the Nintendo Switch servers, with Xbox Live Support promised in the months following its re-introduction on April 18th.

The game was first introduced to the public as a Microsoft-exclusive, through Xbox One, and to PC users. Nintendo announced today that it had reached a deal with their “our friends at Microsoft" over publishing privileges, later revealing the aforementioned line of support in a later posting. "We’ll be working with Studio MDHR to implement Xbox Live features into Cuphead on the Nintendo Switch in the coming months," Nintendo reps mentioned in a post to Xbox Wire.

Cuphead doesn't win its plaudits due to innovation or anything, but the game is nevertheless viewed as the perfect embodiment of "modern retouches" to "not broke don't fix it" game mechanics. In fact, I'd personally vouch for the game's artistic direction playing a pivotal role in enhancing the gameplay or gaming experience, by virtue of the exploding balloons and colors running interference. Not every port is built the same, let's hope the developers get this one right.
