McGregor seems to want back in the Octagon.

This week's news cycle began with the shocking news that Conor McGregor was retiring from the MMA and the UFC. McGregor took to Twitter to announce his fate, saying that he wanted to focus on other things. The news came out of left field considering McGregor had been on video just a week earlier talking about who he would like to battle in his next fight. His announcement elicited plenty of reactions from the MMA community, including Dana White who said he was surprised by the news.

"Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as “Mixed Martial Art” today," McGregor wrote. "I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition. I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement. Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!"

Despite his announcement, it appears as though the Irish fighter isn't done yet. A new video courtesy of TMZ Sports shows McGregor training pretty vigorously. The UFC champion was at Fight Club Gym and was sparring in the boxing ring.

His return to the gym gives credence to the theory that perhaps McGregor is only retiring to gain leverage in negotiations for his next fight.
