It's been a major year for hip hop and Quality Control undoubtedly played a major role in that. We've seen the rise of the Migos into the mainstream as well as Lil Yachty and now they're vetting Lil Baby's takeover for 2018. Throughout the year, they've been teasing the Quality Control compilation album but they were pretty vague in it's release date. Earlier today, Akademiks said we'll be receiving the album this Friday. While no one from QC has actually made a statement about it, Coach K has finally shed some light on the compilation's release.
Coach K shared a photo on Instagram of himself in the studio putting in work on the Quality Control compilation record. "The last 48hrs I’ve been deep in this room putting that work in. I can’t wait to the world hears this magic we’re about to drop. Quality Control Music present “Control The Streets” Vol. 1," the caption reads.
The album's been supported by two major singles at this point. Migos released the "Too Hotty" record in May and then followed it up with the Young Thug and Lil Yachty collaboration "On Me." This week, they also dropped off a remix to Lil Baby's "My Dawg" which had Quavo, Moneybagg Yo and Kodak Black adding their own flare to it. In addition to that, Nicki Minaj and 2 Chainz are also supposed to be making appearances on the project.
Aside from those songs, Quavo also teased a remix of Travis Scott's "Butterfly Effect" at a show. Hopefully, that ends up on the project.
