Chuck Inglish's old group The Cool Kids always had a refreshing, think-outside-the-box approach to rap. Supposedly, he made the "Black Mags" beat while on shrooms.
At any rate, his unique style is on display in his new remix of Vic Mensa's "Down On My Luck," which has little in common with the original. Chuck comes in with a funky conga beat and some whimsical synths before bringing in Mensa's slowed-down vocals. All in all it gives off major lazy summer vibes, whereas the original was more wintry in nature. Another way to look at would be: Vic's version sounds like a big night out at the club and Chuck's version sounds like the morning after.
Chuck offers some liner notes on his Soundcloud page:

Better than the original or nah?
