Chris Brown has had himself an absolutely incredible year sales-wise. As we previously reported, he totaled over 74 million sales plus streaming units between his singles and albums combined. Now, the singer has shared yet another milestone moment from his music career, with the official word being handed down that he's one of the 10 most successful R&B talents in the history of the RIAA.
The organization, one that awards both Gold and Platinum plaques on the regular to artists who cross a certain sales threshold, have seen Brown's astounding stats reflected in their numbers. The above statement is based on Breezy's digital singles sales and the certifications that he has garnered as a result. The total, which you can examine for yourself on the RIAA's website, put him at 49,000,000. That's good enough to break into the Top Ten, historically, with names like Bruno Mars and Drake being other current artists that can match Brown's prowess.
After earning 40 RIAA plaques this year alone, it seems like Chris Brown's star has never been brighter in the music business. A somewhat surprising development, since his feature-length documentary project examined many of the mistakes that have dogged Brown throughout his career and have perhaps prevented him from being completely adored by the paying public. However, with a deluxe version of Heartbreak on a Full Moon now available for download and streaming, Breezy's hot streak won't soon diminish.
