Chloe x Halle didn't expect to hear their name called come Grammy season but justice was indeed served in the form of a "Best Urban Contemporary Album" nomination next to Mr. and Mrs. Carter, and another in the "Best New Artist" category." They received the penultimate honor for their efforts on their debut album The Kids Are Alright - a project that successfully blends many "over the top elements" into one colorful bouquet. Now's the time to make up the lost hours.
Chloe x Halle reacted to the news by reaching out to their Twitter audience, in a message that read: "we are in SHOCK. can’t believe this. 2 GRAMMY NOMS so grateful, wow God is amazing," before passing further credit to the "Universal God Particle" for their success.
For those who don't know, Chloe x Halle are sisters aged 18 and 20 years old, who rose to prominence after Beyonce included them in her Lemonade video diary. From there, the ATL-born sister act released a 5-song EP that spoke to their unbreakable bond. With respect to the hard work they engendered, Chloe x Halle's two Grammy noms are by no means associated with Beyonce, or a case of happenstance. Chloe x Halle have been grinding it out on YouTube since they were 13 and 11, respectively.
