Charlamagne Tha God is facing some rough times since the publicization of his being accused of rape. Since then, other instances of his involvement in rape culture have surfaced as well. Notably, the radio host admitted that the first time he ever had sex with his current wife could be considered rape. The backlash he is facing is severe, as many are petitioning to have him removed from his gig on The Breakfast Club.
Today, he posted some scripture from the Bible that deals with the concept of "Trials and Temptations." The screenshot of the verses from the book of James he selected read as follows:
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
Seems like Charlamagne is finding wisdom in the New Testament, the section of the book that follows the one containing iffy ideologies around rape.
