Kendrick reps the reigning Super Bowl champs with a throwback Patriots varsity jacket in his new "King Kunta" video. Like many people, Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones saw the video, and he believes Kendrick could do great things as the Patriots global brand ambassador, similar to Drake's ambassadorship on behalf of the Toronto Rappers.
"It would be really cool. I'm a huge fan of his and a lot of people on my team are too," Jones told TMZ. "I've seen [Kraft] in a lot of photos with iconic rappers like Rick Ross and artists like Usher. I would say he’s a very hip hop owner ... so I‘m just saying he wouldn’t mind some Kendrick."
In the "King Kunta" video Kendrick wears his Patriots jacket in concert with a blue Los Angeles Dodgers hat. The Dodgers are ultimately the much more logical team for him to represent as ambassador. He seems like more of a baseball guy than a football guy, he's an L.A. man through and through, and it would be great to see him chopping it up with Yasiel Puig. Also, he'll be throwing out the first pitch at a Dodgers game later this month.
