Having dropped off the thriller Slice earlier this year, Chance The Rapper is now gearing up for another movie since joining MGM studios to develop a feature-length musical, Complex reports. Chance's manager Pat Corcoran will also be involved in the project alongside Tradecraft's Scott Bernstein.

The movie is titled Hope and will have The Leftovers and Empire's Carlito Rodriguez writing the script. The basis of the film follows a group of Chicago teens "that band together to turn art into action within their community."

"From day one, our mission at Haight Films' has been to apply Haight Brand's artist-first and Chicago-proud ideology to the film space. We are incredibly excited to be working alongside Chance, MGMand Scott Bernstein to bring this vision to life," Pat said of the project. “Chance and [Nico Segal] are undoubtedly two of the most influential and innovative artists of their generation. We feel thrilled, privileged, and eager to be collaborating with them on such a unique project.”

The movie is still in its early stage so details on the release date and others to star in it have yet to be revealed. Keep it locked on the site for more updates.
