In 2012, after being married for just six weeks, Evelyn Lozada found condoms in her Chad Ochocinco's car. She claimed that when she confronted him, the NFL star headbutted her, leaving her with wounds and six stitches. When the story first broke, people on social media accused her of lying. Some were saying that the fighting must have been instigated by the hot-headed TV personality, a belief that could be supported by her many outbursts in front of the camera. Since then, her claims have been generally accepted as being truthful and ultimately, Chad was sentenced to 12 months of probation following his arrest for the abuse. Now, the accusations are back through Basketball Wives Los Angeles. In the clip below, one of Evelyn's co-stars, Tami Roman, is heard saying "You lied on Chad." Evelyn isn't here for it.
In the midst of this upcoming episode, Lozada shared the raw images depicting the harm inflicted on her body from the abuse. Lozada included a long caption asking the public to stop blaming victims of domestic abuse. She writes, "The fear of being judged and shamed is enough to make anyone stay quiet and suffer in silence—so coming out is a HUGE deal!" Her words are meant to spread awareness concerning the difficulties victims face while attempting to come forward and confront their abusers: "When someone builds up enough courage to speak their truth—they should be believed and supported".
