It appears Cardi B was the victim of an assault by a NYPD police officer. According to her now-deleted tweets, the "Bodak Yellow" rapper is claiming that she was put in a chokehold by a NYPD officer recently.
“I can’t believe this cop put me on a choke hole just now shit is crazy these NY cops don't know how to do they job FUCK 12,” she tweeted out Tuesday afternoon.
When one of her fans speculated that the officer was white, Cardi replied, "Yeup [sic] he was" in another tweet that was quickly deleted. She hasn’t tweeted since, nor clarified why the messages were deleted, but it probably has something to do with her image, especially with how hot she is right now in the streets.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that Cardi has had to voice her opinions regarding law enforcement. Last year, she tweeted about police officers, too. “Stop telling me to be safe,” she wrote. “Its not the people killin people is the cops.”
During this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, Cardi B also stood with former NFL star Colin Kaepernick, who protested police brutality by kneeling during the national anthem before football games. “Colin Kaepernick,” she said, “As long as you kneel with us, we’re gonna be standing for you.” So it's safe to say she’s never been afraid to speak up against the system and be one for the people.
This latest news comes just hours after Cardi released the remix to her smash hit “Bodak Yellow” with Kodak Black last night. With this added push, Cardi could dethrone Taylor Swift with the #1 song in the country. Hell, maybe this story alone will help her land the #1 spot, but guess time will only tell now.
