This weekend was pretty much dominated by the whole Ma$e and Cam'ron beef. In the wee hours of Friday morning, Ma$e unleashed "The Oracle" which took aim at the Dipset leader. It didn't take long for Cam to catch wind of it. He later hit Instagram to reply and let Ma$e now that he's ready to play the game. The next day, Cam dropped his response track and since then, Ma$e has made sure to let everyone know that he "unanimously" won the rap battle. Ma$e seems genuinely heated at Cam in this whole situation but it doesn't seem like Cam's sweating it too much. In actuality, he says he's proud of Ma$e.
Complex recently spoke to Cam'ron to discuss his recent collaboration with Reebok. Of course, the topic of Mase came up in the conversation. While in a typical rap beef fashion, Cam would've probably thrown shots during the interview. However, Cam'ron is undoubtedly a man of class. When asked whether he expected Ma$e to beef him on wax, he said that it was surprising to him.
"It was out the blue, but I’m proud of him, he finally showed some guts after like 15 years. It took him 15 years, but I was really proud of him when I heard that," he told them.
The beef allegedly stemmed from comments Cam made earlier in the year about Ma$e transition into religion. Cam essentially said he believed Ma$e left the rap game because things were getting dangerous which led many to believe that was the reason Ma$e targeted him on the track. But now, Cam says a song on his recent project The Program may have led Ma$e to be upset with him.
"I put a project out called The Program two weeks ago and I told a story about something that happened in Harlem so basically he was probably upset that I told the story," he said, "But I'm proud of him, he showed some heart."
Earlier today, Ma$e made it clear that he's not cool with Cam'ron regardless of what it seemed like over the weekend. He commented on FunkFlex's picture saying, "I only shook his hand cause I won." He later called into Ebro's morning show to elaborate on that.
