Corey Miller better Known as C-Murder has been ordered by a Louisiana judge to pay more than $1.1 million to the family of Steve Thomas according to Billboard. C-Murder is currently serving a life sentence after being found guilty of killing a then 16-year-old Thomas outside a New Orleans nightclub after a brawl in 2002.
The New Orleans Advocate reports Jefferson Parish Judge Glenn Ansardi found Miller liable in a 2013 civil proceeding for the murder. On Wednesday, he ordered C-Murder to pay $500,000 to each of Thomas' parents and $150,000 to account for the victim's suffering. C-Murder has always maintained his innocence in the case, and has still released music during his incarceration.
