After last night, the hot topic in the world of hip-hop is undoubtedly Eminem's incendiary cypher that he dropped the BET Hip-Hop Awards, which aired last night after being taped in Miami late last week. Standing in a parking garage with a car parked in the distance and some of his homies standing off to the side, the Slim Shady took over every frame of the video that was shown, spitting bars that were so fire it's a wonder they didn't burn the ears of any who watched.
Part of the freestyle went as follows:
“But we better give Obama props, ’cause what we got in office now is a kamikaze that’ll probably cause a nuclear holocaust/And while the drama pops, and he waits for shit to quiet down/He’ll just gas his plane up and fly around until the bombing stops," Eminem rapped. "Intensity’s heightened, tensions are rising/Trump, when it comes to giving a shit, you’re as stingy as I am/Except when it comes to having the balls to go against me, you hide ’em/’Cause you don't got the fuckin’ nuts, like an empty asylum.”
Today, up-and-coming Compton rapper Boogie (not to be confused with the NYC-born A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie) thanked Eminem for his gesture of calling out President Trump for his long list of misgivings. He was one of the men standing in the background during Em's cypher and the two posed for a picture together, which the West Coast artist shared via Instagram earlier today. It's just a small part of a bigger association with the rapper and his label, Shady Records, which will now be his new home in the music industry. The new arrangement will give the Cali rapper a larger platform for his music. He was even part of the BET Digital Cypher (which was not part of the awards show), which introduced him and the other fresh faces on the imprint to the world at large. Check that video out below.
Many big names in hip-hop have already reached out to congratulate the young emcee, including Denzel Curry, who was also part of the cyphers that went down at the Hip-Hop Awards.
