BlocBoy JB's had a highly successful year that kicked off with his top 10 single, "Look Alive" with Drake. Since then, he earned himself a spot on the 2018 XXL Freshman List, collaborated A$AP Rocky, 21 Savage, G-Eazy and many other different names. On top of that, his "Shoot" dance became a global phenomenon that had everyone from Lil Uzi Vert to police officers doing it. Fortnite also featured the dance on their game but it looks like BlocBoy is frustrated by the fact that he isn't getting his proper credit.
BlocBoy JB put "Fortnite" on blast earlier today on Twitter for using his dance moves in the game without paying him or giving him his rightful credit.
"EveryTime Somebody Does My Dance Dey Give Credit To @FortniteGame But Dey Ain’t Create Nothing But Da Game So Basically Dey Takin Money And Credit For My Shit Dats Crazy," he wrote. "Niggas Really Be Tryna Put Memphis Under Da Map But Dey Really Got Us Fucced Up"
He added, "Dey Love Our Culture But Hate Our Color."
Chance The Rapper also called out "Fortnite" earlier this year for using viral dance moves without giving the proper credit or compensation to their creators.
"Black creatives created and popularized these dances but never monetized them. Imagine the money people are spending on these Emotes being shared with the artists that made them," he wrote on Twitter in July.
