The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Denver Nuggets last night in Game 2 of their second-round matchup by a score of 97-90. While the score itself doesn't describe a particularly shipping game, make no mistake that the players on both teams got chippy at times. The chippiness reached its peak near the end of the game with only 45 seconds left in the game. Torrey Craig, who had already suffered a broken nose earlier in the game, got checked by Enes Kanter of the Blazers.
Kanter walked away from the scene casually while Craig stayed down on the ground. That's when both team's benches cleared and got in the face of Kanter who wasn't having any of it. A double technical foul was called on Kanter, as well as Gary Harris who ended up rushing to the defense of Craig.
The score was 95-88 in favor of the Blazers at the time of the incident so it was pretty unnecessary on Kanter's part, although the Portland big man has been known to throw his body around. Kanter put up 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 assist in 32 minutes of play.
With the win, the Trail Blazers were able to even the series at one game apiece with Game 3 going down on Friday.
