At this point, it doesn't matter how and why but Billie Eilish became one of the biggest names in the music industry almost overnight. The 17-year-old pop star is somewhat of an anomaly in the world of pop music, acting as the industry's answer to people's criticism of artists like Taylor Swift. Billie's debut album was wildly successful, moving over 300K units in its first week out. She was also a major part of this year's Coachella, signing on to perform at a number of other festivals in the coming months. Given her newfound popularity, the singer has thousands of fans in every city trying to get close to her and somebody managed to get much too close during a recent meet & greet, prompting Billie to speak out on her Instagram story.
In a series of since-deleted posts, Billie addressed something that happened recently when a fan groped her breast at a meet & greet. The artist says that it likely wasn't intentional on the part of the fan and she didn't say anything when it happened but if it occurs again, she'll be pissed. "Pls don't grab my boobs in the meet & greet," said Billie. I think what happened last night was just an accident so I acted like I didn’t notice cuz I didn't wanna make her feel bad if she didn't mean to do it.. BUT IF THAT SHIT WAS FR IM GONNNNEEEEEEE. Please don't harass the girl. It was just an accident and not that big a deal. She was very very sweet.. I was just saying in GENERAL about certain things that I don't feel comfortable with. It's not a big deal."
Hopefully, all of her meet & greet experiences go smoothly moving forward. A number of artists have refused to meet fans in a formal setting because of incidents like this. If it happens again, Billie might become the latest artist to opt out of meet & greets.
