When Big Sean dropped "IDGFU," he admitted shortly thereafter that the song was pretty much inspired by ex-girlfriend Naya Rivera. The actress and singer dated Big Sean before he moved onto Ariana Grande, who is several partners removed from the era herself. Sean Don celebrated being free of contempt with lyrics such as "and every day I wake up celebrating shit, why? Cause I just dodged a bullet from a crazy bitch."
Well several years later the messy split has come to light yet again. The latest quip comes from Naya Rivera after years of relative calm. The singer/actress jumped on stage in the latest episode of Lip Sync Battle, a show in which competitors essentially lip sync for their lives. Naya Rivera was up against comedian Lil Rel Howery (Get Out) who performed the Ghostbusters' theme with a jheri curl mop on his head.
Naya Rivera struck back with her ex's DJ Mustard-produced hit "IDGFU" aka "I Don't Give A Fuck About You," a song she knew full well would incite the riot within, something she needed to come away with the victory. The judge's panel of LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen were left speechless. Her decision to invoke Big Sean after years of radio silence is nothing we could have scripted ourselves.
The full segment will air tomorrow on the Paramount Network, formerly Spike TV.
