Whether you ride for the Bey-hive or not, you can't deny that Beyonce has captivated the world. Not only is she a respected and acclaimed musical artist, but her increasingly vocal socio-political stances have elevated Bey into a cultural icon. She may have once won the hearts of young men everywhere with her proclamation that we weren't ready for "her jelly," but now, the ever-bootylicious Beyonce is operating on a whole other level entirely. In fact, the Carter family has officially become hip-hop's first billionaire couple, so it's only right that Bey rings in her 36th birthday in style.
On the weekend, Jay-Z capped off his "Made In America" headlining set with a heartfelt ode to his wife, conducting a rousing chant of "happy birthday" while providing some hilarious ad-libs. Check out video of the singalong session below:
The gesture no doubt helped make the weekend a special one, and Beyonce spent the majority of the weekend enjoying the festivities, even meeting Cardi B in the process. Bey's mother, Tina Lawson, posted a heartfelt picture and message on Instagram in celebration of her daughter's big day.
Beyonce's father Matthew Knowles also shared a video post, in which he reflects on the day she was born before tearfully telling his daughter he loves her. Touching stuff. Happy birthday Beyonce!
