The city of Houston will be dedicating a day each to Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion in recognition of all their contributions toward helping their hometown with their "Savage" remix. On Wednesday, Bey and Meg dropped a bomb on all of us when they revealed that they'd linked up to remix Meg's "Savage" and bless us all. The song has been blowing up, and there's no doubt it'll be putting some extra coin in these ladies' pockets. However, it turns out that these two Houston Hotties have decided to donate all the profits from the "Savage" remix toward Bread For Life, a local Houston charity that aims "to end homelessness and improve the quality of life of those in need."
Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, has recognized the good that these two Houston natives are doing for the community, and decided to show the whole city's appreciation with a pretty big gesture. After the remix dropped, Mayor Turner tweeted that both Beyoncé and Megan will each be receiving their own respective days dedicated to them.
"#Htown’s @Beyonce & @theestallion dropped a new remix that is just #Savage," he tweeted. "Because of both artists contributions to uplifting our communities, holding down #HTown, & for helping us remain #HoustonStrong our city will present both artists with their own respective days. It’s great to see proceeds from the single’s purchase will support Bread of Life. Let’s purchase & support this organization’s efforts. I look forward to connecting with both artists teams to find the appropriate time to make these requests a reality #HoustonStrong." Meg shared the tweets on Instagram, encouraging her followers to stream the song in order to support Bread of Life.
"Houston Hotties we’re getting a dayyyy," she wrote. "@Beyoncé and I decided to give all artist proceeds to “bread of life” and give back to our home town Houston Texas! So make sure y’all stream for a good cause !!!" Now you've got even more of a reason to put "Savage" remix on repeat.
