The sudden passing of Avicii rocked the music world, with tons of artists sharing their tributes to the 28-year-old for all his musical contributions. Born Tim Bergling, the famed DJ was found in his Oman home and as we previously posted, there was no foul play involved with his passing. His family has now released a statement on Tim's death, thanking everyone for their kind words and support.
"We would like to thank you for the support and the loving words about our son and brother. We are so grateful for everyone who loved Tim’s music and have precious memories of his songs," the statement reads, via Page Six. "Thank you for all the initiatives taken to honor Tim, with public gatherings, church bells ringing out his music, tributes at Coachella and moments of silence around the world. We are grateful for the privacy during this difficult time. Our wish is that it continues that way. With love, The Tim Bergling Family."
Diplo said Tim "set the precedent" for producers and "opened doors and set the trends."
"I know you had your demons and maybe this wasn't the right place for you sometimes," he added. "But we need to protect true artists like you at all costs because there are not enough left and we are losing too many .. be good Tim"
