Writer and director Ava DuVernay has officially earned herself another television deal, entering a multi-million dollar agreement with Warner Bros. Television.
According to Deadline, DuVernay signed onto a multiyear deal that is in “the $100 million range," covering both production and development.
“Ava DuVernay is one of the leading lights in our industry, a brilliantly talented writer, producer, director and entrepreneur whose ability to inspire with her art is exceeded only by her ability to entertain,” WBTV chief content officer Peter Roth said. “We have had the great pleasure of working with her on Queen Sugar and The Red Line, and we are extremely excited about the new stories she has to tell.”

Under the new agreement, DuVernay will be tasked with developing new projects for the studio under the scopes of drama, comedy, long form, documentaries, digital content, and much more for both basic and premium cable.
"Warner Bros. is a terrific partner about matters of visibility and belonging for all kinds and cultures of people, which is our mission at Forward Movement. I couldn’t be happier to call Warner Bros. TV my production home," DuVernay told Deadline.
The deal is set to go into effect in January and extends the relationship that DuVernay already had with Warner as she produces the studio’s Queen Sugar series on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network.
