These Murder Inc. artists are hoping to continue to make magic in the studio.

Ashanti and Ja Rule are more than just friends who collaborate musically together. The singer says they're "a real brother and sister" relationship that has spanned decades. They hit the road together, make magic in the studio together, and will soon be releasing a joint album together. “I believe he is working on music,” Ashanti told People. “We were touring for the past three years. I just saw him two days ago, we had a show together in Indio [California].”

“We have some shows together," she continued. "He’s definitely gonna be working on stuff and we’re gonna be doing some stuff together as well. We’re still on the path to dropping a joint album. I think that should be kind of cool, too.”

In addition to that upcoming project, Ashanti is still working on her seventh solo studio album, as well. “With me, it’s timing," she told Entertainment Weekly. There are a lot of things going on and it’s important to try and line everything up as much as you can, but it’s also important to not sit and wait on things. Sometimes I have a bad habit of waiting for things to line up perfectly because sometimes that doesn’t happen and then you miss out, but I’d love to have some new stuff out this summer!”

It took her six years to drop Braveheart after releasing The Declaration, so hopefully, some new tunes come sooner than later. Are you looking forward to hearing a joint record by Ja Rule and Ashanti?
