Blood Orange's "Chewing Gum" collaboration with A$AP Rocky which included a phone tap of Project Pat's recorded voice has now been rendered into a music video. The video directed by the mastermind behind the Blood Orange project, Dev Hynes, read like a durag infomercial with A$AP Rocky joining him for a desert rally on all (ATV) fours. Watch as their durags flutter against the Saharan dust bowls, created in part by their off-road vehicles quick maneuverability. This marks the fourth time in succession that Dev has uploaded a music video associated with his Negro Swan project, the first three being "Saint," "Jewelry," and "Charcoal Baby," the latter shot in multiple vignettes.
A$AP Rocky's endorsement of the silken headwrap is, by all means, good news for the durag renaissance making waves on the Internet. The "Chewing Gum" music video spans a long enough period for which dusk turns to dawn, just in time for A$AP Rocky's sensi-testimonial. It wouldn't be the first time Dev Hynes lit a room with a scented candle.
