Incase you're not familiar with V-Nasty let me give you a recap: She's associated with Kreayshawn, part of the White Girl Mob, and she's known for using the n-word in her raps. She once was defiant about using the n-word, refusing to change her ways, but it seems that she has cleaned up her act, having returned from a six month stint in Alameda County Santa Rita Jail. LA Weekly recently sat down to talk to her, in her first interview ever, to discuss her music, growing up in Oakland and more.

T-Pain's album "rEVOLVEr" is set to drop on December 6th, and the tracklist has been revealed. Here's what the singer had to say on it: "rEVOLVEr" is drawn from seven albums' worth of material. There are so many different things on this album. I couldn't settle on what I wanted to include, but the final result I think will really hit all of my fans and different audiences."

Will Ferrell spoke with MTV about the huge hit "Ni**as In Paris" which samples Ferrell in the movie "Blades of Glory". You're probably all aware how the song starts off, with Ferrell's line "We're gonna skate to one song and one song only", and then mid-song he's sampled again with, "No one knows what it means, but it's provocative...it gets the people going!"  Here's what Ferrell had to say on it:

We just received news of the tragic death of Heavy D. Details surrounding the Jamaican-born legendary rapper’s death remain sketchy at this time, but the news spread quickly after a tweet from Grandmaster Flash.

A 911 call was placed from Heavy D’s Beverly Hills home around 11:25 AM to report an unconscious male on the walkway. When help arrived, he was conscious and speaking and was transported to a nearby LA hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1 pm. He was 44-years-old.

Drake is all over our news today! In his interview with "The Source" Magazine he opens up about his dislike for Tumblr and Twitter. Pretty insightful. Check what he has to say on them below.

For many hip-hop heads the golden-era of hip-hop was during the '80s-'90s. For those of you who believe that is true, you might enjoy NPR's "The Record". Every other Friday they are looking at some of the first hip-hop music videos, which were played on a TV show called "Video Music Box". "Video Music Box" was created back in 1984, and was the first show to document hip-hop music and culture (and it's still on today!). The show was created and hosted by a man named Ralph McDaniels.

A young man by the name of Jomo Adoula Zambia, who is said to be an associate of rapper Waka Flocka Flame, was murdered in broad daylight Wednesday (November 2) while driving his red BMW in Inglewood, California.


According to LA Weekly, Inglewood police say the alleged Blood gang member ran a red light after being shot in the arm and torso, hitting an on-duty police officer that was stationed in an unmarked car. The officer is currently in critical condition while Zambia, who was rushed to the hospital as well, died soon after.
