Ariana Grande is a force to be reckoned with. Despite the fact her successful album Sweetener was released in August, the songstress is already in the studio working on her next.
In a twitter exchange with fans, Grande discussed the inspiration behind the forthcoming project which she declared will be named, Thank U, Next. Responding to a fan who inquired whether Thank U, Next would be the name of an album or track, she tweeted "Issa song and an album... you’ll get the song first."
It did not take long for Ariana's legion of supporters to draw a connection between the name of the album and previous videos of Ariana uttering the phrase "thank you, next." A fan addressed Grande writing, "wow [Ariana], you’ve been teasing Thank U, Next for years," linking to a video of Ariana using the phrase in an interview dating years back. Grande went on the share that she was influenced by her friend Victoria Monet. "This [is] what happens when u write an album w your best friends lol," she wrote. "They dig up all your old sayings and it ends up becoming the album title lmao."
Earlier this week, Ariana criticized her ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson and commented "thank you, next" under a video of Davidson referencing their relationship in a Saturday Night Live clip. Could the comment have been a subtle allusion to Ariana's up and coming project? What would you like to see on Thank U, Next?
