Looks like the Lakers have been in contact with NOLA afterall.

Despite reports that New Orleans Pelicans' GM Dell Demps hasn't returned the calls of Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the two teams have touched base and they're expected to talk again prior to the February 7 deadline.

Furthermore, Magic Johnson reportedly presented the Pelicans with five different trade scenarios for All Star center Anthony Davis.

One of the trades Johnson presented to the Pels includes Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Ivica Zubac and a 2019 first round pick. Ball, who is averaging 9.9 points per game to go along with 5.4 assists and 5.3 rebounds, reportedly does not want to play for New Orleans and is allegedly hoping to land in Chicago or New York.

Wojnarowski has reported that the Lakers are really pushing to get a deal done for Davis prior to the league's February 7 trade deadline, which would prevent the Boston Celtics from getting involved in the bidding.

Due to the "Rose Rule," the Celtics cannot trade for Davis until July 1 because league rules wouldn't allow Irving's and Davis' contracts under the provision on the roster together.

Davis, averaging 29.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game, is currently sidelined with a "volar plate avulsion fracture" of his left index finger, but he could return to the lineup as early as Saturday.
