Amir Obè may have been gone for a minute, but he's set to return with spoils to show for it. Don't get it twisted. The self-imposed hiatus was not for mere idling. Amir returned to his home base of Detroit, where he proceeded to hit the studio for the cook-up. A creative through and through, Obe stresses the difference between his EP and his albums, explaining his rationale in planning to release an EP series before dropping the full-length. "I'm taking you the journey as it was created," says Obè. "You're going to hear it as it was made. I think it's a perfect segue into the debut album."
He also takes a minute to shout out his producer NYLZ, with whom he has built a deep creative rapport. "We've always been growing, we always experiment, we are both gifted in having an output of influence," says Obè. "He's a jazz head, so him stepping out of his realm to collaborate...We build everything from the ground up."
