The "Katrina" Air Jordan 3s will finally be hitting retailers in May, but sneakerheads in New Orleans will have a chance to cop the kicks early at Sneaker Politics, as part of a special release event.
On Saturday, April 28, the Sneaker Politics' New Orleans location will release the kicks on a first come first serve basis, starting at 11am, and the first 100 customers will receiver a free basketball with their purchase. Additionally, Jordan Brand has partnered with Sneaker Politics for a block party to celebrate the sneaker release which will kick off at 11am. The kicks will also release online and at Sneaker Politics' Lafayette and Baton Rouge locations at 12pm CST on Sunday, April 29.
Everyone else located outside of Louisiana will have the opportunity to purchase the kicks on May 12th. Men's pairs will retail for $190, while BG sizes will be available for $140 a pop.
The special edition 3s were originally introduced in 2006 through charity auctions as a means to raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims. The kicks feature a similar look as the beloved "White Cement" 3s with the addition of red on the mudguard instead of black.
