Ahmaud Arbery was shot down by a father and son who chased him while he was jogging through his neighborhood.

It may have taken days for the two men responsible for Ahmaud Arbery's murder to be arrested after a video of his February killing surfaced, but it was announced on Thursday (May 7) that they've been taken into custody. Ahmaud Arbery, 25, went for a jog in his small town in Georgia when Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis McMichael, 34, decided that he was a suspect in burglaries in the area so they would enact a citizen's arrest. The hopped in their trucks, chased Ahmaud down, and shot him in the street. Video footage of the incident was taken and shows the moment Ahmaud was killed.

After the video circulated online, the public outcry was deafening. Celebrities and politicians came forward, calling for the arrest of Gregory and Travis McMichael, as the two men hadn't been charged in connection with any crime. A grand jury was convened and apparently decided that the McMichaels should be held accountable and according to USA Today, they're being held at the Glynn County Jail.

Previously, the D.A. stated that they reviewed the tape and didn't believe that the McMichaels, or their friend who recorded the incident, should be arrested. To the D.A., there was no grounds for arrest or charges. The McMichaels reportedly continue to maintain that they thought Ahmaud Arbery was a burglary suspect.
