Friday, Kanye West made his first appearance on social media in months when he popped back up on his official Twitter account to take a slick jab at Nike after accusing the footwear brand and former collaborator of creeping on his style after announcing its new Monarch sneaker. "Yeezy 700 Vibes ♂️,” he penned in a tweet, accusing the company of using the concept of the Yeezy Boost 700 silhouette.
Soon after, ‘Ye went on to delete that tweet and every other one that preceded it, only keeping up a retweet of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey congratulating him on his return to the social platform. Now two days later, it looks like Yeezy is getting back into the swing of things, tweeting out several posts that take us on a trip down memory lane.
One included a heartfelt post of accompanying a photo himself and Lamar Odom at the Yeezy Season 3/Saint Pablo album release show at Madison Square Garden. “My favorite moment of walking into MSG to play Saint Pablo, I used to go to the hospital and play Lamar the album when he was learning to walk and talk again Then we walked into the arena together,” he wrote.
He even uploaded an early mockup of the Yeezy 350 shoe, mentioning that he showed the image to the late Louise Wilson the last time that the saw her. Wilson, who passed away in 2016, was a prominent fashion design professor whose pupils included the likes of Alexander McQueen, Richard Nicoll and Peter Jensen among others.
In between such posts, he’s also been dealing out some wisdom, explain that “Some people have to work within the existing consciousness while some people can shift the consciousness.”
He’s even uploaded a draft of a neck tattoo he once wanted to get bearing the namesake of his son Saint West.
