Kanye West and Adidas will reportedly debut the first Yeezy basketball sneaker this Spring. The kicks have surfaced numerous times over the last year or so, including on the feet of Kanye himself.

Among the Yeezy Basketball colorways set to release is the "Quantum" rendition which features a predominately black upper accompanied by reflective 3M detailing.
According to ESPN's Nick DePaula, the league office would ban that version of the Yeezy basketball sneaker on court because of its gleaming, reflective-material heel.

The all-black version of the sneaker doesn't present any issues, but the other colorway features reflective "3M" detailing, "which the NBA would find potentially distracting for both in-arena spectators and television viewers," according to DePaula. This dilemma is similar to the issue faced by Carmelo Anthony when his Jordan M10 kicks had a metallic chrome heel and he had to switch to a pair with a matte finish.
Release details for the Yeezy Basketball "Quantum" have not yet been announced but look for these to arrive in the Spring. Click here for more details on Adidas Basketball's 2019 lineup.
