Earlier, we learned that Top Dawg was hoping to bless fans with four albums by the end of 2018. While potentially unrealistic, fans immediately began speculating on who might be coming soon. ScHoolboy Q and Isaiah Rashad seemed to be possible lock-ins, while Reason and Ab-Soul were outside candidates. Luckily, Top proceeded to shed a little bit more light on the process, revealing that Soul had officially begun working on his new project, whatever that might be.
When someone inquired about the Abstract Asshole, Top replied with "he's working... he gave me some records last nite." It seems like Soul's new effort is most likely in its infancy, though the wheels are in motion nevertheless. As a Soulo fan, the news is certainly welcome, especially given his relatively quiet last few years. To be fair, Do What Thou Wilt speaks volumes, and had ample replay value to keep us satiated. Still, with new music from Q and Ab-Soul on the horizon, the future is looking bright.
Anyone still bumping Do What Thou Wilt, or Soul's scene-stealing verse on Danny Brown's "Really Doe?"
