Donald Trump tweets out his list of "Fake News" winners & losers this year, but crashes the site in the process.

Just as he promised, Donald Trump decided to hop on Twitter Wednesday night and reveal his “Fake News” awards. However, the link Trump sent out didn't even work coincidentally.

The message linked to a malfunctioning page on the Republican National Committee website, which read: “The site is temporarily offline, we are working to bring it back up. Please try back later.”

The page would eventually return less than an hour later with a list of Trump-era accomplishments and jabs at several news organizations in the process. The “winners” were CNN, mentioned four times; The New York Times, with two mentions; and ABC, The Washington Post, Time and Newsweek all with one mention apiece.

Rather than specific awards however, the site listed 10 news stories that Trump viewed as false. The entries focused on stories where the media outlets had admitted errors and issued corrections, like those by ABC News’ Brian Ross, and CNN’s incorrect reporting on when Donald Trump, Jr. had access to hacked WikiLeaks documents.

After the tweet, Trump would follow to up by saying: "there are many great reporters that I respect and lots of GOOD News for the American people to be proud of!"

White House Correspondents’ Association president Margaret Talev issued a statement in response to the awards, saying, “Reporters will continue to work every day to inform Americans what their government is doing in their name and with their money.”
