Last week SZA said some blush-worthy words about one of her collaborators, Kendrick Lamar. Speaking to Billboard Magazine, from when she fronted the publication as a hopeful Grammy nominee for The Best New Artist category, the singer only had boastful things to say about the rapper when it came to the time he dedicated to his last album, DAMN.
"...I watched [Kendrick's] process -- he’s a true, genuine genius. Dot doesn’t play any instruments, but he designed and produced his whole album," she said. "From scratch. Like... it’s too much. It’s too incredible. I’ve never witnessed anyone do that, except for maybe Frank [Ocean]. It’s past due. He’s the most inspiring person I’ve ever met in my entire life."
Of course, it only makes sense that chemistry the two seemingly share gets turned into a video for the song "Doves In The Wild," that Kendrick dropped on verse on for SZA's last album, Ctrl, that has since been certified gold.
In a recent post to Instagram, we see SZA and Kendrick striking a pose with music-video director and photographer, Nabil, who has worked with a hot roster of artists such as Nas, Frank Ocean, Kanye West, The Weeknd and Travis Scott to name a few.
Revealed by SZA's past Instagram posts and stories, the crew seem to be in some sort of desert getting all kind of sunrise and sundown shots. Looking at the work that Nabil has created in the past, this video in the making is bound to be another masterpiece.
As for upcoming tunes from the songstress, we can expect to hear an album featuring Tame Impala's Kevin Parker and Mark Ronson. She revealed the news in a past interview saying, "I listen to Stevie Nicks. I love classical jazz. I love folk. I love rap. I love Modest Mouse. I'm making an album with Tame Impala and Mark Ronson."
We not only have a dope music video to look forward to but also some new tracks.
