Draymond responds to Bob McNair's 'inmates' comment.

In a piece for ESPN The Magazine, Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta Jr. revealed the complex details inside the NFL owners meeting with the players, from last week which included quotes from some of the owners, including the Houston Texans' Bob McNair.

According to Wickersham and Van Natta, in regards to NFL players protesting during the national anthem, Bob McNair said, "We can't have the inmates running the prison." McNair's comment reportedly "stunned some in the room," including former Eagles star Troy Vincent, who was among the 13 former and current NFL players in attendance.

Troy Vincent, now the NFL's Executive Vice President of Football Operations told the group he was offended by those comments, and McNair later spoke apologized, explaining his words weren't meant to be taken literally. Vincent reportedly accepted the apology, and McNair also released a statement saying he regretted using that expression.

Several athletes have called out Bob McNair in the wake of his comments, including Warriors forward Draymond Green, who shared a lengthy message on instagram in which he references disgraced former Clippers owner, Donald Sterling.

Draymond's response to McNair's comments reads:

"Wow! This sure does sound very Donald Sterling-esque. But I'm sure the fans pay to see him play and he's putting himself at risk of CTE by going out there every Sunday and giving 110 percent! Inmates? For starters, let's stop using the word owner and maybe use the word Chairman. To be owned by someone just sets a bad precedent to start. It's sets the wrong tone. It gives one the wrong mindset. Webster states that an inmate is a person confined to an institution such as a prison or hospital. Not sure these tax paying men should be referred to as inmates- but what do I know?"

Other athletes including Richard Sherman, Damon Harrison and Reggie Bush also weighed in via twitter.
