Nike has plans to drop a brand new "Abalone" Nike Air Foamposite One this weekend, and if you're asking yourself what Abalone means you're not along.
As it turns out, Abalone is a common name for any of a group of small to very large sea snails, whose shells give rise to a range of strong, changeable colors.
Naturally, the "Abalone" Foams draw on inspiration from those colorful, iridescent shells.
The multi-color upper, featuring a metallic blend of blues and greens, is offset by the black tongue, midfoot and lining as well as the black rubber outsole. The "Abalone" Foamposite One is scheduled to hit Nike Sportswear retailers and Nike.com this Saturday, January 20th for $250.
In addition to this colorful pair of Foams, Nike will also be releasing the vibrant "Big Bang" Foamposite One in February. Click here for more information on that limited edition release.
