Love them or hate them, you can't deny that the South African group Die Antwoord have solidified themselves as one of music's strangest, surreal acts. Unfortunately for fans, the group have yet to deliver new music since their Mount Ninji And Da Nice Time Kid album dropped in 2016. Despite the temporary absence, it would appear a return is imminent. Antwoord have revisited Mount Ninji and come through with some visuals for the melancholic, introspective "Alien."
The Yolandi Visser sung ballad tackles themes of isolation and loneliness, while the video provides an added layer of social commentary to the fold. In true Antwoord fashion, the clip is visually striking, with an odd-looking alien taking center stage; production value on point. While Ninja doesn't appear on the track, his presence is still felt; the enigmatic South African stepped behind the camera to handle directorial duties, turning in a cinematic and visually striking effort.
