Bump J's updated sound doesn't reflect his old dog mentality.

After speaking up in class in defense of Chicago, it's only fitting I write this blurb on Bump J, one of the good eggs that got away. I'm convinced Bump J would have carried the rock forward, had not been locked away in Prison. Not in defense of his rights, but because he has a lot of undiscovered talent. Unfortunately that was then, this is now. But this idea he is due some form of reparation from Chicago artists still persists in my head. In any case, mega-producer Cardo often pairs himself with rappers who embody a true underdog mentality, except when Drake called upon his holy sacrament for "God's Plan."

"Foe Phone" sees Bump J break down his id. Finally going with the digital dash in one racket, Bump J compares the advent of smart phones to an indecipherable challenge. You can't teach an old dog new tricks all in one fortnight. As the cover suggests, Bump J is still his way up to the iPhone 4, figurative speaking.

Quotable Lyrics:

I do not own degree,
I'm from the streets.
I have to cook up when I want to eat.
I spit the cook up when I'm on the beat.
No I did not go to State.
