OVO SZN is in full effect right now. Back in August, the OVO Sound label made quite the announcement when they started putting up billboards around Toronto's Eaton Center to reveal upcoming albums from Majid Jordan, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Roy Wood$, and DVSN. While PartyNextDoor & DSN both dropped off their respective projects earlier this month, and with Roy Woods’ still readying Say Less, next up from Drake’s talented roster is R&B duo Majid Jordan, who releases their highly anticipated sophomore album today called The Space Between.
Laced with 13 tracks in total, the follow up to last year’s self-titled debut features guest appearances from fellow OVO members PartyNextDoor & DVSN, the latter of which appears on the lead single “My Imagination” which just a saw music video surface in its support last month.
“The album I looked at it like a 50-minute song. So not one of the tracks should be skipped,” Jordan said. “This whole thing [album] is seamless. I did all the transitions. It flows, you're not supposed to know when track 3 ends and when track 4 finishes,” Jordan said. “It’s the space between. The first song all Ima say is you’re getting on the highway. It sounds like you’re getting on the highway.”
“The name is open for interpretation. It can mean a lot of things.” Majid said about the album title. “It could mean like the space between truth and fiction, reality & perception. The “space between us as people.” Majid added. “When the name came to us it felt a lot like a place like this. What is a place like this? What is this space between? And then listen to the album and see what you come up with.”
Led by the singles “My Imagination” & “Body Talk,” fans can now stream the highly anticipated sophomore album now via Apple Music. Suggest you roll up first and enjoy the new vibes from the OVO duo.
