While everyone is talking about Drake, Jermaine Dupris would like to remind us that hip-hop has existed for decades now. His new compilation album So So Def 25: From The Vault, is an all-star get-together of the artists who have passed through the label over the years. There are the obvious inclusions like the first track in the album, "Jump" by Kriss Kross or "Welcome to Atlanta" by Dupree himself (featuring Diddy, Snoop Dogg and Murphy Lee), but there are also some others that seem to have been included for their features, like "Let's Get Married (Reception Remix)" by Jagged Edge and a feature from Mr. Kanye West (one of the only artists on this album still active today).
The real draw of the album is its nostalgia. No one will be able to listen to "My Boo" or "I Think They Like Me" without getting teary-eyed for days gone by. Take a trip back to the aughts and beyond:
