Kris the $pirit rose out of silence last month with his debut $pirit Mode Vol.1. After making some noise on the scene, his group The Posterz settled into an unofficial hiatus. While the group’s other rapper Husser found some success with a solo project, $pirit was laying low, most likely working on this fire right here.
Given the silence, his debut might not be coined as “highly-anticipated,” but the record harnesses all the required elements to satisfy new fans and day-ones. $pirit Mode Vol.1 introduces a balanced consideration for the art that is lyrical murder, breathing some freshness into the pool of rap artists on the come up. The listener is likely to get sucked into $pirit’s undeniable flow. To top it off, his storytelling is as legit as his rhythmic agility. He hits us with hints of the meaning of life in “Death & Rebirth” and ends with “Rack$,” the new “money over love” motto. In terms of production, the instrumentals are sonically diverse, going from breezy slow jams to some hard-hitting ruckus. Overall, issa vibe.
